Point repair RFQ for Qatar, UAE and Saudi: joint seal vs Instant-Lock vs resin patch

This note is the Middle East path-chooser companion for Reliance Trenchless point repair. Start with the defect, not the catalogue name

Reliance’s point-repair hub separates three common buyer tasks:

  1. Leakage at a joint between pipe sections → review an internal pipe joint seal (not a wall sleeve and not a resin patch).
  2. Localized defect in the pipe wall (crack, fragmented section, infiltration/exfiltration, root intrusion) → compare a mechanical Instant-Lock sleeve with a resin-and-fiberglass patch supported by a repair packer.
  3. Continuous defects along a longer section → that is usually a different full-length CIPP lining scope. Reliance supplies point-repair products; it does not supply a full-length CIPP lining system or local installation.

A shared word such as “seal”, “sleeve” or “CIPP” does not make these interchangeable.

Confirm measured internal diameter before selecting a model.

Instant-Lock is a stainless steel sleeve with an EPDM jacket installed from inside the host pipe. A resin patch leaves cured reinforcement in place and uses a separate repair packer during cure. A joint seal targets the joint between sections, not a wall defect.

What to send in a GCC RFQ before air freight

Dubai office (regional coordination): TH65 Alandulus, Jumeirah Golf Estate, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Products are manufactured in China (Wenzhou headquarters; Qingdao among manufacturing bases). Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE are listed customer countries. Reliance exhibited at Trenchless Middle East 2024, Dubai.

Export orders are wrapped, labelled and crated on pallets. Air freight is fast air cargo for urgent or time-sensitive orders; sea, land and rail are also published routes. Availability and delivery are confirmed per project.

Include:

  • Measured internal diameter at the defect or joint (mm or inches), plus nominal DN if known, and pipe material.
  • Defect type and evidence: joint leak vs wall crack/fragment/root vs continuous section (CCTV or photos).
  • Which path you want quoted, or ask for both Instant-Lock and resin+packer proposals against the same defect (see the sleeve vs resin guide).
  • Quantity, preferred steel grade if known (304/304L or 316L where published), and any document needs.
  • Destination country or port, target date, and whether the order is urgent (air freight) or standard (sea).
  • Access/entry constraints and whether wheels or bypass (packer path) may be required.
