How to Prepare a Trenchless Pipe Repair Enquiry

A useful trenchless pipe repair enquiry starts with the site conditions and the repair task, not only a product name. Sharing the right measurements and operating details helps a supplier compare pipe plugs, repair packers, internal sleeves, joint seals and related equipment against the project.

Start with the repair task

Explain whether the work requires pipe isolation, flow diversion, hydraulic or air testing, localized point repair, internal joint sealing, defect preparation or manhole rehabilitation. For isolation and testing, compare the inflatable pipe plugs and testing range. For a localized patch, review trenchless point repair systems, including repair packers, internal pipe repair sleeves and fiberglass resin repair materials.

Share the pipe information

Include the measured internal diameter or pipe range, pipe material, defect type, access direction, working length and the quantity required. If a repair packer or sleeve is being considered, note the available access and the required repair position. For leaking joints, the internal joint sealing systems page can help organize the initial selection questions.

Describe pressure and service conditions

Separate the required service condition from the product operating limit. State whether the project involves back pressure, inflation pressure, hydraulic testing, air testing, flow diversion or resin curing. These are different checks. A supplier should confirm model-specific limits, materials, dimensions and suitability from the project information before quotation.

Include access and installation constraints

Record the access opening, insertion method, available equipment and any bypass requirement. Where the defect needs preparation before a localized repair, describe the pipe material and access so the supplier can review the point repair jack range. For manhole, pipeline or culvert rehabilitation, include the substrate, work area and material application requirement when reviewing the manhole mortar sprayer system.

Prepare the quotation checklist

  • Pipe diameter, material and defect or intended task.
  • Selected product or model, dimensions and quantity.
  • Pressure or service conditions, access and installation constraints.
  • Required standard, inspection documents, destination and target date.
